Audio Texture Radio Show - June 24, 2013

So back from the holiday and back into musical action once more kicking off this week with some of that new/old soul business belted out by the powerful voice of Marta Ren. Debruit then laid down the summer hip hop vibes recorded with Shamon Cassette whilst he was in New York, which led nicely into the ever impressive Homeboy Sandman riding a twisted, yet compulsive break. We were then happy to finally share a track from the forthcoming TG Mauss album which we've been sitting on and enjoying for the last few weeks, check it when it drops on the ever interesting Karaoke Kalk in July.

Seaworthy & Taylor Deupree then dropped the tempo off the radar as usual with a cut from their lovely, hyper-chilled new album before, almost reluctantly, we popped a cut in the show from the new Bob Marley Legend remixed album, a thoroughly shameless and misguided project but with a decent Photek remix! A Ninja Tune 1, 2 then ensued with a couple of the labels rising stars, Raffertie and Emika both of whom are really coming of age. We then pitched up a nice new Hanami track from the forthcoming Project Mooncircle EP to get a little house mix rolling.

Different Marks kept the dreamy vibe flowing with "To Be Without Me" from the excellent and inexplicably free "Untitled" album on Pet Recordings - if you fancy a bit of super credible/dance pop vibes then we heartily recommend it. The Hello Skinny remix of Owiny Sigoma Band then followed which paved the way nicely for some post punk/disco not disco politically minded grooves from the new Phil Asher affiliated project Aisling & The Haze and we're looking forward to hearing more of that. U-Ziq then sent the show spinning off into a parallel, electronic fusion, universe before Christian Prommer finished things up in a more grounded fashion with a cut from his new Compost Black EP, about to drop soon.

Audio Texture Radio Show - June 17, 2013 by Audiotexture on Mixcloud

I'm not going to write much this week as I'm officially on holiday exploring, then laying on, the quietest beaches in the north of Ibiza I can find with the help of my nice girlfriend and little hairy dog. So far so good we're all totally chilled and enjoying life and I'm even getting some colour!

On repeat in the car are the Pyschemagik - Magik Circles album and the soon to be released Beach Diggin' from Guts and Mambo and if you need some summer soundtracks then I heartily recommend both of them.

Anyway here's the tracklisting, without links this week as I've got some food to eat and some nice cold white wine to drink in our little cottage in the middle of nowhere. There is not even any music playing as the crickets, chickens, owls and birds are doing a fine job of providing the evening's soundtrack.

Audio Texture Radio Show - June 10, 2013

Audio Texture Radio Show - June 10, 2013 by Audiotexture on Mixcloud

Sweet reggae music from Willie Lindo started this weeks show from the new Beach Diggin', aptly timed, summer soundtrack from Heavenly Sweetness. Frameworks then provided the beautiful stringy vocals from his great new EP with a little help from the wonderful Kathrin DeBoer. Modern interpretrations of the English folk tradition then followed first from old hands, The Memory Band who have just released a great new album on Static Caravan and then from relative new boy, Airhead whose new album on R&S is sure to be one of this years, thinking man's, electronic highlights. High Wolf then brought the Gallic pysche before John Roberts laid down the horizontal machine vibes.

The Hidden Orchestra have been remixed on a new EP and Long Arm's cinematic hip hop vibed twist is the pick which led nicely into the dub tickled Hey-O-Hansen remix of "Ode To Yakushima" just one of the many excellent tracks from the recent Springintgut album. All sorts of fusions then ensued firstly with some Blludd Relations the exciting new project of Jessie Hackett and Bullion, before Paul White displayed his diversity and virtuosity with "Watch The Ants" and Kelpe disorientated everyone with the twisted "Nice Eyes In My Size".

Yosi Horikawa led the end of show uptempo vibes with his progressive tribal rhythms and his new album on First Word is well worth checking for some fresh musical beats and pieces. Gold Panda then followed with "Flinton" just one of the many rays of electronic musical sunshine from his new album on Ghostly which led nicely into "Distant Places" from the talented Magic Panda, surely a close relative? Okapii, a fresh, sweet sounding, young duo from Denmark then finished off the show in fine uplifiting sunshine style and we look forward to hearing much more from them.

Audio Texture Radio Show - June 3, 2013

An interesting show this week if only from the perspective that 5 of the tracks are all sitting around the web just waiting to be downloaded for free, the first example of which is the show's opening track from 18 year old Danish talent Bwoy De Bhajan, one to watch for sure. A taste of the new Donso album, the African sideproject of Krazybaldhead, followed and is just one example of the forward looking Afro fusion from the excellent Denfila album available now on Comet. The abstract, twisted Balearic, b-side  vibes of Luminodisco ensued which, rather weirdly, seagued nicely into some hip hop beats from the Japan Project beat tape courtesy of Al Dobson Jr and Creole+ before The Jet Age of Tomorrow cam along and laid down the sweet soul with some help from Jesse Boykins III.

The fresh styles of Chance The Rapper then paved the way for the more abstract hip hop beats of Jonwayne and Jeremiah Jae before Sqaramouche came along with the deep atmospheric techno vibes. Things then went all Balearic as we dropped two tracks back to back from the outstanding Magik Sunrise compilation from Psychemagik, surely one of the compilations of the year. Bwoy De Bhajan then made another appearance, this time a longer display of his talents with the scizophrenic delights of  "Global Aztec Civilization".

Moods, another promising beat talent unearthed by the Fremdtunes crew, then laid down the hard to categorize beats with his "Stimulus" track before Atjazz displayed his remix talents with his take on Little Big Bee's, "Searchin" which is just one of 3CDs worth of remixes celebrating the golden touch of Atjazz soon to be released on R2 records. Vondelpark then kept the mellow vibes rolling but this time with a little house mix from Robag Wruhme before Scarper revived the ghosts of 808 State to end the show with "Surfing The Cosmic Belt" a little taste from their forthcoming EP on Plexus.
