Audio Texture Radio Show - September 23, 2013 by Audiotexture on Mixcloud

Quite an experimental, cosmic sort of vibe going on this week kicking off in lovely melodic style though with Noveller's "Bright Clouds Bloom" which led right into the submerged jazz beats of Ahnnu before Submerse waded in with some fine instellar beats from his new Project Mooncircle release. Things got a bit beat mental from then on with Oneohtrix Point Never and then Mike Gao both ditching familiar song structures to good, if slightly challenging, effect.

Low Leaf is a multi-talented type of girl hanging out in LA and is about to release some interesting material on MPM, which "Burning Clouds" nicely showcases. Our new favourite Aussie muso Kirkis then provided a fitting tribute to the recently departed George Duke. Classic Reggae from Bullwackies All Stars was then the order of the day courtesy of the very welcome Wackies digital reissue program which led nicely into some spiritual jazz from the new Jimi Tenor album, Exocosmos.

Vakula then dropped a 9 minute slice of deep, slo-mo jazz house of the highest order before things went all leftfield hip hop firstly from exciting new French producer Zerolex with some help from Selfsays and then with an old Audio Texture favourite the Clark remix of Rone's "Let's Go". We were then really happy to be teasing you with some of the new Torus material as this young Dutch producer goes from strength to strength, look our for the EP next month on Sonic Router. Harleighblu then provide some nice deep soulful vibes before Lucrecia Dalt added her own blend of machine soul to proceedings before Samuel finished the show in a nice way with "Steam Train" from his new EP forthcoming on Technicolour.

Audio Texture Radio Show - September 16, 2013 by Audiotexture on Mixcloud

A hazy, laid back selection this week kicking off with long time show favourite, Jono McCleery and his new single "Ballade" closely followed by Demian from the great new Wondercore Island mixtape showcasing a whole host of varied talent from down under. Icelandic experimental popsters, Mum, then made an appearance with "Slow Down" our favourite track from their new album before we had to drop some more Jessy Lanza as her great new album on Hyperdub has been our late night listen of choice recently. Thankfully the ridiculously expensive Damon album is about to be reissued, saving everybody who wants a copy several thousand pounds and "Song Of A Gypsy" is a little taste of it's pysched out delights - good work once again by Egon.

Dope Gems then provided a wicked cover, as is their remit, of Ethel Beattie's, "It's Your Love" before things went all Hip Hip kicking off with a little preview of the new, left leaning, Jonwayne album which paved the way for a cool Shafiq Husayn rerub of an old Lloyd Scott swing classic. Hot new UK talent then followed with the first single, "Like" from Baishe Kings, let's hope the rest of their material lives up to the early promise. Knxwledge then kept the leftfield vibe rolling with a taste of his new material on All City before Larry Heard kept the hip hop beats but went soaring into the outer realms of machine soul with "Three Spheres".

The Range then upped the tempo with a taste of his new EP on Donkey Pitch which led nicely into Neko Neko, a track we purloined from the Groovement blog's recent compilation. Opdot, with a little help from a Circle Trap's remix, then melded deep techno with some classical touches before the unique sounds of Hello Skinny finished the show off in fine oddball style.

Audio Texture Radio Show - September 9, 2013

Milo Mills launched this weeks show with the atmospheric, instellar vibes of "Rocky" which led nicely into the "Lunar Dub" from Dr. Zygote's nice new EP of cinematic beats on Black Acre. It was then a trip down memory lane for us with some brand new retro rave vibes from the one and only Mark Pritchard with a little help from the Ragga Twins, no less - banging! Yoggyone then mellowed out the rave vibes with his great new single "Windeed", hyper beats and sweet soul in perfect harmony. The mischieviously named National Jazz Trio of Scotland then dropped the tempo right down with a lovely example of the mellow delights to be had from their great new album on Karaoke Kalk. Now Dope Gems are an interesting new band making a living from covering only the dopest of tunes and they certainly did a good job with "The Ruins Of Britain" from the new Webster Wraight Ensemble album.

He3dless then kicked of the more electronically inclined second half of the show with some great atmospheric bass driven beats which, after my meltdown/technical difficulties was pursued by the more sprawling, spacious sounds of Aebeloe, one of our tips for future stardom. Soulful house vibes of Germanic origin followed from Drei Farben House before Jose James & the ever excellent Hindi Zahra were treated to a rare leftfield house remix courtesy of Falty DL. Titeknots then chipped in with some quality soulful beats due out soon on Tru-Thoughts before Alex Barck ended the show in a truly epic, prog rock, house style no less.

Audio Texture Radio Show - September 2, 2013 by Audiotexture on Mixcloud

A largely leftfield electronic selection this week kicking off with more Shigeto because, quite frankly, you can't have too much of Shigeto's new album which is on the headphones and on repeat. A young lady from Japan, under the artistic name of Moskitoo has infiltrated the bearded, overly serious world of avant-garde electronica to good effect as her tune "Night Hike" ably demonstrated. Her album comes via the ever great 12K label so look out for her soon to be released album, Mitosis. That led nicely into the lovingly textured, ambient soundscape, "Le Pont" from (the probably bearded) Gaston Arevalo from Uruguay. The first of two John Wizard tracks then ensued and we have to say the album is surely one of the joys of the Autumn release schedule, there really is nothing else like it out there and if there is we want to hear it.

Attention then turned to the African diaspora and Haiti in particular as we dropped some Toto Bissanthe from the excellent new Rough Guide to Voodoo compilation which paved the way nicely for the Brazilian jazz fusion of Lavoura on EBS Diggin, a really interesting Brazilian label we have had the fortune to hook up with recently. After the almost dreamy start to the show things then took a turn for the uptempo, kicking off with a drum and bass/proto footwork remix of Christian Falk, surprisingly by disco/house don, Opolopo. Full on footwork rave madness then ensued from Brooklyn native Seafloor released on Russian label Hyperbolid, now there's a lesson for Obama and Putin - co-operation! Archie Pelago with their slightly bonkers, broken blend of beats and instrumentation then graced the show and we whole heartedly recommend you obtain their new EP coming on Styles Upon Styles very shortly, they're fresh, got a great name and good artwork, what more do you want?

An urban soundtrack by the ever dependable Roots Manuva then dropped the tempo, paving the way for one of the more leftfield cuts from the new Jessy Lanza album on Hyperdub before, lest you forget the quirky joys too quickly, we dropped another cut from the excellent, self titled album, from John Wizards. Damiano von Erckert then chipped in with some modern boogie aided by the vocal talents of Georgia Anne Muldrow before we threw in another, simple but effective, Shigeto track before ending the show in fine style with a track from GB and taster from his rather excellent new album coming very soon on the modestly entitled Gifted and Blessed label.
